Leader of Business Area Supply Chain
In this role you will be developing the capabilities in one of Walki’s three business areas, which are Industrial Packaging, Consumer Packaging and Engineered Materials. The role is new in the organization and will also be tailor-made based on your experience and the relevant competencies.
In this position you will:
Act as a link between the Group Supply Chain and the local site of your choice which will be in Central Europe, Finland, or Spain.
Lead local Supply Chain Managers and Team Leads at the sites in your area of responsibility.
Develop and implement new or improved supply chain processes and ensure the local adoption of supply chain concepts, processes, and tools.
Confer with supply chain planners to forecast demand or create supply plans that ensure availability of materials and products.
Design or implement supply chain concepts that support business strategies adapted to changing market conditions, new business opportunities or cost reduction strategies.
Manage inventories of products or organizational resources.
Monitor supplier performance to assess ability to meet quality and delivery requirements.
Develop, document and diagram supply chain models to help facilitate discussions with the customers and the sites.
Appraise vendor manufacturing ability through on-site visits and measurements.
Evaluate potential of products, technologies, or resources.
You have over five years of experience in supply chain management.
You have a bachelors or equivalent degree where you have ideally studied Supply Chain Management.
It is also beneficial if you have supply chain-specific certifications, such as the APICS-certification.
You have experience of building supply chain teams with different strengths and capabilities to ensure a smooth process right from the raw materials into the delivery of a finished final product to the customer.
You are experienced of working with customers and suppliers and know the importance of the effective communication in both directions.
You have used Lean Six Sigma tools and techniques at work and harnessed teamwork to systematically boost operational efficiencies and to reduce waste. You have participated in Lean teams and used tools such as: Just-in-Time, Kaizen events, Kanban, and Value Stream Mapping.
You can demonstrate your understanding of the Unit Acquisition Cost by examining the TCO.
You understand the tactical level of local supply chains in the operational sector you are managing.
You will manage a network of interconnected businesses involved in the ultimate provision of the product required by the end-customer.
You will understand that supply chain management spans all movement and storage of raw materials, work-in-process inventory and finished goods from the point-of-origin to the point-of-consumption.

Able to ensure that all the activities, from planning of a new product for the production, marketing, and after-sales care, are built around the customer.
Practicing good customer relations management and maintaining a customer relations program.
Demonstrating ability to balance the organizational needs with the needs of the customer.
Fluent English language skills. Fluency in Finnish, German, Polish or Dutch is seen as an advantage.
